UFC 270 Odds: Francis Ngannou v Ciryl Gane
In one of the most highly anticipated heavyweight title fights to date, Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane will battle it out to reveal who will be the king of the mountain and unify two existing titles.
Both Cameroonian Ngannou and France’s Gane smash conventions for the division, which usually have heavyweights relying more heavily on power than speed or technique.
Gane in particular has an excellent command of muay thai and demonstrates poignant striking skills. Even the most expert strikers in his division, like Alexander Volkov and Jairzinho Rozenstruik, appear amateurish as Gane dominates them in the ring. And even at 6’4 and 240 pounds, Gane is also surprisingly quick and agile on his feet.
Even still, Gane has not had an opportunity to fight in the pro-calibre fights that Ngannou has competed in, and won. Francis “The Predator” Ngannou possesses traits more typical of his division, and his punching power is beyond explosive. He is known to close the distance with an agility more akin to a middleweight before putting his opponents to sleep. Add in that striking prowess, and Ngannou’s cold and calculated package deal may be just a hammer fist from proving himself a worthy rival to Gane.
Bodog says -140 that Ciryl “Bon Gamin” Gane can use his striking power to dominate lethal heavy-hitter and +115 underdog Francis Ngannou.
UFC 270 Odds: Brandon Moreno v Deiveson Figueiredo
For these two flyweight contenders, fans will witness the third in a trilogy of matches unfold for UFC 270.
Their first bout was on December 12th 2020, at UFC 256. At the time, Figueriredo was the defending champion for the division, as well as the betting favourite. The match ended in a draw, and Figueiredo kept his title.
Fast forward to June in 2021 at UFC 263. Moreno was the underdog, but he pulled a major upset against reigning champion Figueiredo with a submission in the third round, making him the first ever Mexican-born UFC champion.
Moreno successfully knocked Figueirido off of his flyweight throne, but the saga wasn’t over then. This time, Moreno is the favourite at -185, and Figueriredo is entering the fight as the +150 underdog, a classification he’s only had four times in his career.
Brandon “The Assassin Baby” Moreno showed immense heart in the first bout, but it wasn’t quite enough to overtake the technical proficiency of Figueiredo. The tables have turned at the sportsbook, however; by the second fight, we could perhaps see 33-year old Figueiredo slowing down. At the very least, it seems clear that a lack of speed will be to his detriment for this third fight between the flyweight rivals.
UFC 270 Odds: Michel Pereira Lima v Andre Fialho
Florida’s Andre Fialho has just stepped in on short notice to face Brazillian Michel Pereira, after Muslim Salikhov withdrew from his UFC 270 match with Pereira for reasons that remain hallway whispers.
Fialho is already a PFL, Bellator, and UAE Warriors veteran at the age of 27. In recent history, he defeated ex-UFC fighter Stefan Sekulic at UAE Warriors 24 in October ‘21, via knockout in the first round. He’ll be entering the cage fresh off the back of a four-fight winning streak.
Pereira had some setbacks, which include losses to Tristan Connelly and Diego Sanchez (where he was disqualified in the third round for a knee while Sanchez was on the ground), but he more than made up for it when he dominated in three consecutive games: defeating Zelim Imadaev, Khaos Williams, and Niko Price back-to-back.
Bodog odds are -310 that the heavy-handed Peireira can overtake well-rounded ring-in Fialho, who is the plus money option at +240.
UFC 270 Odds: Cody Stamann v Said Nurmagomedov
This bout for the bantamweight title will have 32-year old Cody Stamann attempting to snap his losing streak, and 29-year old Said “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov looking to jumpstart another line of victories.
Stamann has a record of 19 pro wins, including 6 via knockout, 2 by submission, and 11 by decision. After losing to Jimmie Rivera in July 2020 and Merab Dvalishvili more recently in May 2021, both by decision, this bout will see if Stamann’s second-rate showings can ramp up into first gear.
Nurmagomedov won’t take it easy on Stamann, to be sure, with the Russian rising force bringing a record of 14 pro wins, including 4 by knockout, 3 by submission, and 7 by decision – and only two losses to his name.
Nurmagomedov is also riding high on the spectacular victory in his last fight against Mark Striegel held in October last year where The Eagle pummeled Striegel via first-round TKO.
While Stamann is currently ranked 14th in the UFC, Nurmagomedov is rankless. That doesn’t deter sportsbooks from backing him, though, and Bodog sets its odds at -210 for favourite Nurmagomedov to prevail against +170 Stamann.
