Crawford v Porter Odds
Through 13 years and three different weight classes, Terence “Bud” Crawford has managed to stay undefeated, locking in 28 knockouts to his 37 wins. He already won the WBO welterweight title against Jeff Horn in June 2018, then four more times after that, including against Kell Brook in November 2020.
Bud is a versatile pound-for-pound boxer, but despite his impressive record, he’s been criticized for never facing a worthy opponent of his stature in the ring. He may find that worthy contender in yet another fight for the welterweight title with Shawn “Showtime” Porter. Still, Crawford is a -700 favourite against underdog Porter’s +425.
Porter himself was on a four-fight winning streak, which helped him win both the WBC Silver welterweight and WBC welterweight titles. That is until he met Errol Spence in the ring who took him down via split decision in a heavily contested fight.
While Porter may be a veritable bulldog in the ring, his MO of relying on strength to overpower deficiencies in technique may not be enough to stand up against Crawford’s practised defense and sharp counterstrikes.
Raymond Muratalla v Elias Araujo
Opening up the Crawford/Porter card is a newly announced, eight-round lightweight clash between Raymond “Danger” Muratalla and Elias “El Macho” Araujo. The fight was supposed to go down between Muratalla and Steven Ortiz, but Ortiz suffered a finger injury that forced the card to switch to Araujo. Muratalla is 12-0 with 10 KOs to Araujo’s 21-3 and 8 KOs. This confrontation will be quite the warm-up for the headliners, despite the plan-b replacement.
Esquiva Falcao v Patrice Volny
Also on tap is the 12-round IBF middleweight world title eliminator between two undefeated fighters Esquiva “La Pantera” Falcao and Patrice “Vicious” Volny. Falcoa is an Olympic silver medalist with a 28-0 undefeated record and 20 KOs, and Montreal’s Volny is finally up on the undercard for his shot at the title, with a real contender in Falcao.
Janibek Alimkhanuly v Hassan N’Dam
This 10-round middleweight tilt between rising star Janibek “Qazaq Style” Alimkhanuly and former world champion Hassan N’Dam also occupies precious real estate on the undercard for Nov 20th. Hassan N’Dam got his name in the circuit after defeating Ryota Murata in a major upset in 2017. 28-year-old Alimkhanuly has won four straight bouts via KO or TKO, including the surprise stoppage of Rob Brant.
The battle of the welterweight title is within punching distance, and you don’t want to miss your chance to jump in the ring and take your own share of the action. Head to the “Boxing” section in Bodog Sports, and decide who’s the safest best: Crawford or Porter? It’s Showtime, Bud.
