Bodog’s Prop Builder Explained
Prop betting has really increased in popularity since Caesars Palace introduced it as a brand-new betting option for Super Bowl XX in 1986. Back then, people were betting on the Chicago Bears’ defensive lineman William “The Refrigerator” Perry to score a touchdown. Prop builder betting has since been integrated into betting for just about every sport and has a way of making major events feel more festive.
To elevate the prop betting experience at Bodog, we offer the Prop Builder. Explained with simple terms, the Prop Builder is a tool that organizes betting markets, making it easy to pull up the ones that are most relevant to you. We’ll go over how it works with each sport, so you can streamline the process and nail your next prop wager.
Prop Builder Explained: Hockey
Pull up the Prop Builder page by selecting it from the “All Sports” tab in our sportsbook. Then select “NHL”, which will bring up the games happening in the National Hockey League that night. In “Game Markets,” you pick the game you want and everything connected to it will appear on the page. Bet on either team to win, including Handicap wins, goal totals for the entire game and first period, and the winning team after the first period. You’ll also find a widget that allows you to select exactly what you want for “Correct Scores.” The betting options in Game Markets need to be parlayed.
Beside the Game Markets, you’ll find an Over/Under tab. Here, you can bet on specific players to register over or under a certain number of points, saves, or shots on goal. Lastly, you’ll find a “Goals” tab and “Assists” tab, both of which allow you to see all of the player props associated with those categories.
Prop Builder Explained: Football
The Prop Builder can be used for both the NFL and NCAAFB. First, pick the league that you want to bet on and the available games will appear under Game Markets. Select the game you’re interested in and you’ll get an overview of the main props available for the game. This is where you can bet on the winner (straight up or Handicapped), total and more.
For more specific props, check out the tabs beside Game Markets. You’ll find an assortment of major statistical categories that can be applied to players or teams. Touchdowns, passing yards and rushing yards are just a few examples of the props that are available for each team. As you select the ones you want, they are added to your bet slip automatically.
Prop Builder Explained: Soccer
There are many different soccer leagues available for betting in our sportsbook, and the prop builder works the same way for all of them. Dive deep into the Game Markets if you want to parlay different props available to a game, such as Correct Score and total corners. Or, explore the various options found on the other tabs, including Player Doubles, where you can bet on both a player and their team achieving a specific outcome. You can also expand the prop page for goals, shots, shots on goal, tackles, passes, assists, cards and more. And don’t forget the Head to Head tab that lets you bet on which of two star players will register more shots.
Prop Builder Explained: Basketball
The NBA is loaded with prop betting options. First, open the Game Markets tab to see a summary of the main prop bets available for any given game. This is where you can bet on things like which team will win, and whether the total number of points will go over or under a designated number. Betting on the winning team can be done using a Handicap for the favourite or straight up. You can also bet on which team will be winning after the first half.
Then scan the headers to see the other options for the builder. Some examples include:
– Player Doubles
– First point
– Points
– Rebounds
– Assists
Under any of these headers, you’ll see all of the games on the board, so you can pick the one you want and then look through the player props for the statistical category selected. Pick the ones you want and they will be loaded automatically onto your Bet Slip.
Prop Builder Explained: Baseball
The sheer number of baseball games happening on any given day can be overwhelming, making the MLB prop builder especially valuable for baseball bettors. Pull up the Game Markets tab to see everything connected to a specific MLB game, or use the other tabs to filter more specific props, like Over/Under, Player Doubles, strikeouts, homeruns, hits and more. You can also use the Head to Head tab mentioned above to bet on which of two players will have a better statistical performance in any given category.
Prop Builder Explained: UFC
The UFC might not have the same volume of props as other sports, but when there’s a big headliner on tap, people are keen to bet on things beyond the winner of the matchup. Often, UFC props get categorized as Round Props or Fight Props.
The former will let you bet on things connected to the rounds, like the total number of rounds going over or under a specific number. You can also typically bet on the winner combined with the winning round for extra excitement. As for the Fight Props, this can cover things like betting on whether or not the fight will go the distance. Exact Outcome props let you pick the winner in addition to method of victory (KO/TKO vs Decision). Browse the Game Markets to get an idea of the main props for the card, then dive deeper into each market by looking at the tabs that follow.
Props can get out of hand when major events come around, so we’re pleased to be able to keep them organized and easily accessible for the average player who enjoys a little extra spice with their primary bets. Try it out and see if you like it as much as we do.
