NFL Week 13 Preview
Thanksgiving week was stuffed with NFL action and served with all the trimmings, and stuffed viewers tuned in to watch players burn calories on their behalf. As the season ramps up well into its second half, we saw another notch in the two-game winning streak of the Niners after they beat the Vikings 34-26, and the Rams chalked up a 36-28 loss to the Packers, adding to their own streak of disappointments.
The Dolphins finished off their month of undefeated victory with a 33-10 blowout win against the Panthers. And although the Colts may not have entirely secured an upset against the Bucs, they won plenty of kudos as they managed to stop Tom Brady in the first half and forced Tampa Bay to make mistakes where they shouldn’t have.
Gluttons for the game had best save some room for the next course, because Bodog is ready to slice up Week 13’s NFL betting preview. Grab your bet slips… oh, and a plate.
NFL Game Previews
It’s a theme to be shamelessly embraced: Bodog is head of the table with your NFL Week 13 preview, the à la carte menu is ripe for your order before Thursday’s first kick off, and these are the chef’s selection of matchups to devour.
Arizona Cardinals @ Chicago Bears
All three of the Cardinals games in November were missing two of their key players, with Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins sidelined with injuries. Meanwhile, the Bears trudged forward on Thanksgiving sans QB Justin Fields. The three top players are expected to be back for Sunday’s game at Soldier Field, and the Cardinals are the leading -7.0 favourites to the Bears’ +7.0.
Indianapolis Colts @ Houston Texans
The Indy Colts lost their chance at back-to-back wins after falling short of the Buccaneers in the week just gone, and Week 13 will show us if they can regain the winning mindset that gave them a Week 11 victory over Buffalo. The Colts are indeed set to return to form as favourites at -8.0, and their Texan opponents have a +8.0 head start in Sunday’s match at NRG Stadium.
Los Angeles Chargers @ Cincinnati Bengals
The +2.5 LA Chargers are undergoing their second consecutive game on the road, while the -2.5 Bengals, who convincingly dismantled the Steelers in Week 12, are getting a home field advantage for a second time running at Paul Brown Stadium.
Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions
Week 12 had the Vikings just barely falling short to the 49ers’ offense at 34-26. The Lions didn’t fare much better with a loss to the Bears on Thanksgiving day. It’s more than likely the -7.0 Vikings will find it in them to give that extra nudge for a victory over the +7.0 Lions on Sunday at Ford Field.
New York Giants @ Miami Dolphins
The Giants’ Week 12 defense packed some power up against Jalen Hurts of the Eagles with three interceptions, but the Dolphins are harnessing powers of their own with a four game winning streak and a massive 33-10 win over the Panthers. Miami are -3.0 favourites against the Giants’ +3.0 on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium.
Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Jets
The Jets may have just celebrated a 21-14 win over the Texans, but they’re still only at 3-8 and at the bottom of the AFC East, making them the +7.0 dogs in Sunday’s match against Philly at MetLife Stadium. The Birds are down to 5-7 after their loss to the Giants, but nevertheless they remain heavy favourites in Week 13 at -7.0.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Atlanta Falcons
The Bucs narrowly scraped past the Colts with a 38-31 win last week, while the Falcons had a much stronger winning cushion of 21-14 against the Jaguars. Even so, Tampa Bay are undeniably better suited for victory on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium as -11.5 favourites, up against Atlanta’s +11.5 odds.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Los Angeles Rams
With a current three-game losing streak and 2-9 season record hindering any semblance of momentum, the Jags are +13.0 underdogs for Sunday’s match at SoFi Stadium. The Rams may have come up short with their defense against the Packers last week, but they are the comfortable favourites at -13.0 on the spread in Week 13.
Denver Broncos @ Kansas City Chiefs
Underdog +10.0 Denver’s forward-pushing offense in the Week 12 match against the Chargers ended in a 28-13 win. Even still, the -10.0 Chiefs who are leading the AFC West will be a tough team to beat at their home Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, especially during their current four-game winning streak.
New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills
In perhaps the most anticipated matchups in Week 13, the 8-4 Patriots will be facing the 7-4 Bills at Bills Stadium on Monday in their first of two matches. Whoever wins this match will steal the driver’s seat of the AFC East. The Bills are pegged as -3.0 favourites to sweep it up, with the Patriots lagging at +3.0.
The odds are live and cooking at the Bodog sportsbook, and the Week 13 slate is already promising big things for your bet slips.
