NFL Week 12 Preview
With fresh vigour, we usher in our Week 12 NFL betting preview and close out the action-packed Week 11 slate. Some of us are still feeling the waning aftershocks of Week 10’s earth-shaking results, serving as a timely reminder that the game can turn on a dime.
In recent days, we rebalanced on more of an even keel. The KC Chiefs extended their winning streak by yet another game, the Titans ended their 6-game winning streak with a shocking loss at the hands of the Texans, and the Ravens, minus QB Lamar Jackson, proved their stamina by bouncing back in their match against the Bears. All in a week’s work.
Week 12 is just about underway, making now the best time to get your bet slips in and secure some favourable odds.
NFL Game Preview
The pressure is building from all sides as we fast approach Thursday, and so is anticipation as the books open for the spread. Better soak it up, bettors. For teams teetering on the edge, these games could make or break the rest of their season.
Chicago Bears @ Detroit Lions
The Thursday night match at Ford Field in Detroit on Thanksgiving Day pivots on whether both the starting quarterbacks from these rival teams will be healthy enough to play. The Bears are slight favourites with -3.5 points to cover against the spread, and the Lions are looking at +3.5.
Las Vegas Raiders @ Dallas Cowboys
The + 7.0 Raiders are reeling from a three game losing streak, but if the -7.0 Cowboys’ offense is anything like it was against the Chiefs in Week 11, the Raiders could stand a chance at redeeming themselves on Thursday at AT&T Stadium.
Buffalo Bills @ New Orleans Saints
With Bills strongmen Star Lotulelei and Tremaine Edmunds back on the lineup in Week 12, it’s very unlikely we’ll see a repeat of their faltering defense against the Colts. The Bills are -4.5 favourites ATS, and we’ll see on Thursday whether QB Trevor Siemian can step it up a notch to win with a +4.5 spread at Caesar’s Superdome.
Atlanta Falcons @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Sunday’s game at EverBank Field will have the Falcons who are burdened by an injury-ridden lineup face the Jags who have had an unpredictable season. Falcons are -1.0 favourites against the Jaguars’ +1.0.
Carolina Panthers @ Miami Dolphins
Sunday’s game at Hardrock Stadium hinges on whether Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey can help them reach their full offensive potential. The Dolphins’ bad passing defense makes them a slight underdog at +1.0, but really it could be anyone’s game as Carolina is only -1.0 points behind.
New York Jets @ Houston Texans
With rookie Elijah Moore hauling touchdowns for the Texans, plus a major upset against the Titans in Week 11, Houston has a good chance at covering the -3.0 spread at NRG Stadium on Sunday. The Jets are likely to welcome back Zach Wilson and kick off with a +3.0 head start.
Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants
The Eagles have been lighting up the scoreboard with a trifecta of good performances. The Birds are -3.5 favourites against their NY rivals, and Sunday will tell us if the Giants can sharpen up their offense with a +3.5 point head start at MetLife Stadium.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals welcome the Steelers to Paul Brown Stadium on Sunday for their second matchup this season. Cincinnati beat Pittsburgh early on, although their major loss against the Browns isn’t putting them in the best of standings. The Bengals are -3.5 favourites against the Steelers’ +3.5.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Indianapolis Colts
The Buccaneers travel to Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday to face the Colts. The Colts are building momentum after sweeping up the Bills 41-15, and with such a tight running game, the +2.5 Colts are about to show the -2.5 Bucs what their defense is made of.
Tennessee Titans @ New England Patriots
The Patriots have finally given up their seat on the fence this season, and after throttling the Browns 45-7 they’ve earned the -6.0 favourite spot against the +6.0 Titan dogs at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.
Los Angeles Chargers @ Denver Broncos
The Chargers have to cover a -2.5 point spread in Sunday’s game at Empower Field at Mile High. The +2.5 Broncos could still swing either way; by overwhelming the opponents, like they did with Dallas, or plummeting, as we all witnessed when they tried to fly with the Eagles.
Los Angeles Rams @ Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers plus Davante Adams will prove to be a lethal combination in Sunday’s game at Lambeau Field. Both Jared Goff and John Wolford of the Packers are suffering from injuries, and they’ve got a minimal +1.0 head start against the Rams at -1.0.
The odds are up, and the table is open. Make your wager, pull up a chair, and prepare to devour the most thrilling week of the NFL with Thanksgiving week football.
